Keanu Reeves lives in Toronto and visits Buffalo
frequently. In early September
of 2009, Keanu was surveying potential sites for his next film production titled
"Henry's Crime". Reportedly a romantic comedy that will begin filming November 2009 in Buffalo,
New York. Keanu's mother is English, his father is Chinese-Hawaiian.
Keanu means "cool breeze over the mountains" in the native Hawaiian language.
Attending a romantic comedy is sometimes necessary from a boyfriend girlfriend perspective.
While most guys might often suggest a Matt Damon does Jason Bourne for a
Saturday movie. Women are typically less than enthusiastic when attending Jason Bourne or Daniel Craig as James
Bond type flicks. Guys pay attention here... In practice women only attend blood and glory flicks on the outside chance the
boyfriend will soon pick-up a "Marley and Me" DVD for Sunday couch night.
Stock Market News
While over 3 trillion dollars remains on the sidelines, investors continue to
pour cash back into stocks, index funds,
and mutual funds. for the typical investor, mutual funds remain the investment vehicle of choice.
Mathews China Fund (MCHFX) provided a nice ride from Aprils price of $15.
We held MCHFX to $22 where we
jettisoned this for more lucrative plays. The Chinese economy is expected to recover at a faster pace than their US or
European counterparts. As of September, MCHFX looks like a steady hold thru
December or until $29-$30 range.
Game Plan
Following the March 2009 crash, the strategy was to invest in financials and/or
any stock President Barack Obama
labeled as "Too Big to Fail". This includes Citi (C), Aig (AIG) and Bank of America (BAC). While AIG remains
an intriguing Swing, or Day Trade, the prospect for massive gains has dwindled since July's reverse 1:20 split.
AIG's stock price would need to hit the $500-$600 per share price to match pre October 2008 highs.
Disclosure: author holds C, AIG and BAC
