dear
alex,
my sister and i would like to buy a digital
camera, and we are not sure what to look for. can you help?
Deb K. Ellicottville, NY
I have been researching your digital camera wish and boy
there are a lot of choices out there. After trying to send
you reviews that seemed relevant and failing I have come to
the conclusion that I will have to tell you what I think
you should look at: Sony Mavica FD-83 and FD-88. The best
thing about these cameras is the extreme ease of use in
getting photos to where you want to use them. Plus,
although the floppy storage is limited you can carry a
pocketful with ease and on the cheap. Another plus is that
the reviewers I've read have had no occasion to find out
how good Sony's customer service is. That isn't true of
any other brand. It is mentioned over and over again that one must ignore
what seems to be low resolution specs on these cameras.
Apparently you simply don't see anything but great
reproduction on screen or photo paper up to an 8x10.
There are cheaper cameras for sure but these Sony's please
beginners and professionals for all the same reasons.
Pricing is good at the major retailers in general, but I'll keep
looking.
